Co je to Hardware
Základní otázka. Co je to hardware? Jde o tu část Vašeho počítače, na kterou si můžete tzv. "sáhnout". Tedy to, co je hmatatelné. Neberte to jako nějakou definici, ale raději jako informaci, kterou si lehce zapamatujete.
Můžeme jej rozdělit do mnoha skupin. Nejdůležitější je asi základní deska, dále v počítači musíme mít pevný disk, procesor, zdroj, chladič(e), operační paměť, grafickou kartu (může být integrovaná na základní desce), neobejdeme se bez monitoru (LCD či CRT) a také nějakého vstupního zařízení, tedy klávesnice nebo myši (nejlépe mít oboje). Dále je typická zvuková karta (může být integrovaná), reprobedny, optická mechanika (často DVD vypalovačka), modem, síťová karta (často integrovaná na motherboardu), čtečka paměťových karet, joystick, tiskárna, skener, televizní karta, někdy se ještě setkáme i s disketovou mechanikou.
Kvalita, výkonnost či schopnosti jednotlivých součástek se může velice lišit. Stejně tak se může lišit i cena, ale neplatí pravidlo vyšší cena = lepší komponenta.
Hardware jako takový je nám k ničemu, nemáme-li pro něj potřebný software. Především jde o operační systém, dnes je nejčastější Microsoft Windows (téměř vždy), spíše raritou jsou pak operační systémy Linux používané hlavně hodně pokročilými uživateli.
V obchodech se začátečník setkává jen s kompletními sestavami, kde výrobce vše sestavil, často je i předinstalovaný operační systém. Pro zkušené uživatele je možnost sestavit si počítač ze zakoupených částí sám. Na to jsou potřeba především zkušenosti a znalosti. Ale i pokročilejší uživatel může počítač vylepšovat dokoupením a instalací nového hardwaru.
